Slip N Slide’s new signee reflects on his new blessings in his Tevin Campbell-inspired single.
Mike Smiff is starting to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Since signing to Slip N Slide Records last year, the South Miami native teamed up with his mentor Trick Daddy and Trina for their major single “Paradise.” After making a guest appearance in VH1’s ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Miami’ earlier this year, Smiff welcomed Dwayne Wade back home to the Miami Heat, traded verses with his “A1” since day one Rondo Smiff, and teamed up with Trick again for their song “Still.” Now, he’s using his latest single to reflect on all the success he’s had thus far.
This concept here is like the glow-up, My life story,” Smifs said in a press release. “I started off f**ked up, in the struggle, I ain’t have sh*t.”
In his new single, Smiff is proud at the fact that he can take his girl shopping at the mall whenever possible, and doesn’t have to take her to McDonald’s for dinner. He’s more than thankful that he doesn’t have to live off pork-n- bean weenies and sugar water or wait for the bus ever again. Smiff reflects on all of his new blessings over beats crafted by Wiseman Music Group, who channels Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk.”
