Brother Love finally explains the hype behind his notorious cropping game.
Avid social media users have become way too familiar with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ expert cropping skills. Last year, Diddy enticed the world with the way he adjusts his photos when he clearly removed Kendall and Kylie Jenner from his epic group shot with Migos, Jaden Smith, Travis Scott, Wiz Khalifa and more with the caption, “Black excellence.”
The jokes and memes ensued as usual, and they were just about to fade away until last month. Brother Love’s serial cropping moves made during Grammy Weekend in NYC when he posted a photo of Nas, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar after French Montana and Fabolous were noticeably removed from the shot. Although the world was quick to catch on, the Bad Boy CEO didn’t provide any kind of explanation for the speedy crop job.
Leave it to Ellen to make him spill the tea.
“I take a lot of pictures with a lot of different celebrities ‘cos we’re all just family and stuff,” Diddy said. “And sometimes my photography editor, he doesn’t let me know when he’s taking people out of the pictures.”
During his recent appearance on her talk show, Diddy revealed the underlying secret behind all of his superb photo editing. The face of Ciroc claimed that he doesn’t touch his photos at all; it’s actually his photographer. Diddy explained that his shooter was one who wanted the now-iconic photo of Hov, Nas, and k. Dot. In fact, he originally didn’t wanted French, Fab or anyone to be removed.
“There were people that were taken away that didn’t deserve to be taken away, I had nothing to do with it. It was just this young kid that works for me, he wanted a picture of Jay-Z, Nas, and Kendrick.”
