Birdman grants Angie Martinez a rare interview at his mansion in Miami.
Earlier this week, Power 105’s Angie Martinez took her talents down to South Beach to speak with Cash Money Records CEO Birdman. Martinez is the only one to get a personal account of the on-going beef between Baby and Lil Wayne, which has caused a serious rift in their once-golden empire. Birdman opened about his side of the beef, which he claims is strictly based on business.
“That’s my son no matter what,” Birdman told Angie. “I think what’s going on is business. My perspective is I’m going to do what he want to do, but he’s still going to be my son. Nothing will change the fact that he’s my son.”
Baby took the opportunity to explain what happened at Club LIV in Miami a few weeks back when he allegedly threw a drink at Wayne during his live performance. Although he was clearly in the VIP section that overlooked the stage, Birdman claimed he nor his entourage had nothing to with it. He also denied his involvement in Young Thug and his manager’s alleged plot to kill Lil Wayne in his tour bus in Atlanta back in April.
“That’s the craziest sh*t I heard in my life. My children mean the world to me. There is no indictment on me.”
Angie also questioned Birdman about Drake and Nicki Minaj’s involvement in the feud and where they will end up if both labels go their separate ways. According to Baby, “Nicki and Drake ain’t going nowhere regardless.”
After Martinez asked if they were happy, Birdman said “Both of them, very and I have respect for both of them because they got nothing but respect for me.”
